Today Gilbert is 75. But he carries on to cultivate his vineyards with passion. He is owner and grower in the small village of Preignac in the Sauternais, west southern France, in the region of Bordeaux. With his 7.5 acre of vineyards situated at the back of his house, he produces a Sauterness wine that has the appellation Château. He cultivates his vineyards on his own, from planting, maintaining, oenology, an up to the sale.
His garage wine is composed of several sepages of which he is amongs the only one to carry on producing them. He claims a production like in the old times. He uses oak barrels with corks that are not in plastic but glass.
Gilbert is very proud of his production and is always very happy to have visitors to do the big tour, accompany with a wine tasting.
